Tutorial and Demo: How to Use DFAM and 0-Coast for Frequency Modulation with Mother 32
The LFO on the Moog Mother 32 is a great tool, when set to audio rates and patched to the VCO, for FM sounds. External modules can achieve similar effects.
In this video, I demonstrate how the Slope Cycle on the Make Noise 0-Coast and the Sequencer on the DFAM, when set to audio range, can be used for FM sounds and very complex waveshaping as well as other cool tricks.
This performance starts fairly simply but gradually builds to some pretty wild, gnarly sounds.
Near the end of the video, you'll find the chart for this patch and some close-up pictures of each synth's patch bay.
